tower of london (notice the overcast sky & rain)...
mind the grass... for that actually used to be a moat... that was fed by the thames... but then, it wouldn't flow back... and it actually caused such a stench that it was drained... the moat was supposed to protect the castle, but word has it that the stench alone did a much better job!
tower of london - guard... at first we thought it was a prop to lend to the authenticity of the place then we saw him/her blink... we never did figure out if the guard was male of female, but we did observe the changing of the guards... which was quite a production!!
tower of london (interior of white tower... i think)
knight's armor with the horse... he actually looks like an oversized donkey from shrek... it was koowelle seeing the progression of the armor. the horses also got a little larger... this one was a fairly decent size, there were some that were mini- horses. check out the metal skirt on the armor!!
british museum - nereid monument, 380 bc, from xanthos... this tomb building was erected for a lykian dynasty... the nymphs of the sea are between the columns
british museum - inner coffin, shucks, perhaps we ought to bring these back and tell our life stories with imagery... i wonder if embellishment is acceptable and encouraged...
to laugh often and much;
to win the respect of intelligent people
and the affection of children;
to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;
to appreciate beauty,
to find the best in others;
to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
